In this session, attendees will review nutritional assessment of the CKD patient; learn updates on diet conundrums in CKD; discuss optimizing diet for individual patients; and get tips on managing appetite in feline CKD patients.

Dr. Quimby is an associate professor at The Ohio State University and is board certified in small animal internal medicine. Previous to her current position, she completed a Ph.D. studying feline chronic kidney disease and was faculty at Colorado State University. Dr. Quimby is a recipient of the International Renal Interest Society Award and the AVMF/Winn Feline Foundation Research Award for her contributions to nephrology and feline medicine. Her current research areas include renal pathophysiology, novel treatment strategies, and feline clinical pharmacology focusing on improving supportive care and quality of life in cats with CKD.
